Show PLANS COMPLETE FOR PROVO RODEO, CELEBRATION Final preparations for the $30,-000 $30,-000 show to be in Provo July 21, 22, and 24 as the entertainment for the Provo Rodeo Days celebration, cele-bration, were being detailed this week by the celebration board of directors. Invitations are being extended to all persons in the intermountain area and the best entertainment ever presented south of Salt Lake is expected. The rodeo is set for four Provo showings in the BYU stadium with three evening shows beginning at 8:30 p. m. A matinee mati-nee will be given on Monday, July 24th, at 2 p. m. Leo J. Cremer and his nationally national-ly known rodeo will be here for the event, offering $4,000 in prize money and placing the show among the top ten in the nation. Bronce-riding and calf-roping will share honors with renowned circus cir-cus acts such as Lucky Lady aerial aer-ial act, 125 feet above the ground and Captain William Meyer and his trained horse, "Starless Night". To reign over the three-day fete are three Provo girls, selected on 'June 30 during a judging event where twenty-three other girls from Provo, Springville, and American Fork vied for the honor. Elaine Jensen, 5 feet, 5 inches redhead, red-head, is the queen, with dark-eyed Rhoda Vaun Call and dark-haired 5 feet 4 inches Afton Fillmore as attendants. Tickets are on sale at the Hed-quist Hed-quist Drug Number 1 and the Paramount Par-amount theater, Provo. Two parades are being scheduled, sched-uled, one for Friday, July 21 with the theme "Strong America" and the second as a climax, July 24, with only gasless vehicles being allowed. |
