Show Artist Addresses Alpha Beta Club Mrs. Flora Fis.her gave an interesting inter-esting program to the ladies of the Alpha Beta club on Friday when they met at the home of Mrs. Wm. Witney. Entitled "Art for Enriched Living," Liv-ing," her talk dwelt on the many phases of art, and how all can enjoy en-joy it. She spoke of the great natural nat-ural beauty spots, which surround us in Utah and urged the ladies to become more familiar with them, to really see the beauty which is constantly before them. The development devel-opment of an art appreciation in children she illustrated with stories stor-ies of school children who have be-n be-n r hetter adiusted in every way through an opportunity to thus express ex-press themselves. Mrs. Fisher also told some of her experiences in making, new friends and acquiring some of their philosophy ofliving through her work in art. She showed some of her paintings and the circumstan-' circumstan-' ces in which they were done. Then ?Via enpnfr Kmnpi time on the crafts Which have been developed in her class at summer school. There were many suggestions, special holiday npyeltie?., the preservation pres-ervation of flowers to be made into pictures, crocheted and handwork-de handwork-de bags, belts and other accessories accessor-ies A report from the legislative council was given by Mrs. Henry Weight, the art tea and the coming com-ing book review by Helen Kimball were announced. This is the last program of the club season, the next meeting to be a business session ses-sion at the home of Mrs. E. L. Sheffield May 2. The 'Art Tea will take place of another club meeting meet-ing in April. |
