Show Kiwanians Stage Benefit Minstrel; Public Invited To raise funds to bring the Avard Fairbanks statue, "Mother and Child," to the Art Gallery is the number one reason for the Kiwanis Negro Minstrel Show here this evening. Reason -No. 2, is to give townspeople an opportunity to laugh and enjoy themselves. The show is scheduled for 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium and an invitation is extended to everyone. every-one. Tickets may be secured from members or at the door. Practically every member of the Kiwanis club is taking part in one or more phases of the evening's performance. Thereare four one-acts one-acts and any one is worth the admission ad-mission price, directors declare. Beside?,, the club chorus will give numbers. One act, "Mush and Poke" will feature Milton Harrison and Jay Bingham as principal characters; act two, "Good Maunin' Judge," will include J. F. Wingate, Vic Frandsen in the lead, with Erwin Sheffield, Maurice Bird, Glen Christensen, Jackson Howard, Vernon Ver-non Cook, Arthur Condie, Leonard James, Bill Gogarty in other parts directed by Mrs. Gertrude Clements. Clem-ents. The third act, "Down on the Levee" will include the club quartet quar-tet composed of Glenn Coffman, Perry Goodliffe, Arthur Boyer, and Dillon Frazier. - Act No. 4, "Oh Doctor" has cast Howard Maycock, and Oliver Dal-ton Dal-ton in the leading rolep, supported by Delmoine Christensen, George Bird, Wendell Nielson, Glenn Tipton, Tip-ton, Merle Sargent and G. Ray Hales, directed by Clarence Jensen. |
