In recognition of the fine job which Mr. TurneV has accomplished accomplish-ed in this most recent picture, a short film showing how the movie was made, will be featured on TV Channel 4, Sunday at 1:45 p.m. A story and an elaborate art layout including nearly a dozen pictures of the movie, were featured in the February issue of Modern Photography. Photo-graphy. There are 16 different sets used in the film and all are constructed construct-ed of cardboard, wood, cloth, paper and other ordinary materials. A complete story written in long hand and pencil sketches of the characters to be portrayed were just a few of the minor preliminaries prelimin-aries involved before the tedious work of making the little puppets begfan. It took Mr. Turner three years in all to make the movie in his spare time and he was assisted as-sisted by a number of friends including in-cluding some from the BYU. After carving out the characters they were painted with water colors, col-ors, sanded and coated with clear fingernail polish. Some of the characters char-acters have as many as 26 moving parts, which involved hinges on the knees, ankles, feet elbows, wrists, hands, neck, jaws and eyebrows. eye-brows. Minor props were made from whatever was at hand; the tongs, poker and shovel in the Sorcerer's lab for instance wex'e made of hammered sheet copper and the pots, pans and bowls were shaped from toothpaste tubing. The picture features a real boat complete in every detail and many other interesting items to make up the various :sets.
