Show Pheasant, Quail Hunt Opens Saturday Nov. 3 hunters in Utah do their hunting on legally established hunting units. Sportsmen are reminded that the future of pheasant hunting within our state is dependent upon up-on the respect they have for the rights of private property owners. This law applies ap-plies to the present duck and deer hunts, as well as the seasonal upland up-land game bird hunt scheduled for pheasants and quail and opening open-ing November 3 at noon. www All field reports and surveys coming from Utah's upland game bird areas point to an average or better shooting season ahead, according ac-cording to Fish and Game Department Depart-ment spokesmen. The quail and pheasant seasons open and run concurrently. Opening date is Saturday noon, November 3, until Tuesday at 5:30 p. m., November 6. Each day's shooting for the three-and-a-half day season begins be-gins at 7:00 a. m. until 5:30 p. m., except for the opening hour on noon Saturday. "Average shooting" shoot-ing" as related to the past two years will find each of the 100,000 or more pheasant hunters going afield bagging 2.6 birds per hunt for the season. Department records rec-ords show that four out of five sportsmen purchasing a hunting license go afield in pursuit of upland up-land birds. Predictions are that this year nearly 300,000 pheasants will be returned to the bags of these hunters. One-fourth of the pheasant |
