Show Our Servicemen . . Serviceman Sends Thanks For Paper Dear Mr. Conover and staff: I guess it's about time I wrote to thank you for the Herald you have sent me for the last three years. It has really been a comfort to be able to read about what goes on at home. ,1 was surprised when I read about Mr. Conover's trip to the editors' convention in Alaska. Alas-ka. There is a man on the ship I served on from Cordova, Alaska, and he got a letter from home saying that his mother and stepfather, step-father, Mr. Hanson, I think, had the Conover's for guests at their home quite a coincidence, he and I are pretty good buddies. The Bremerton is a heavy cruiser crui-ser quite a jump from a destroyer. des-troyer. I'll be in the electrical gang on her too. He expects to be home for Chistmas. During his absence, his wife and two childretn are staying in Springville. |
