They are delivered in Mandarin, Contonese and Eglish by a corps of hifghly skilled announcers and linguists, most of them Asians who refuse to live under com-! munist control. j Double-Talk Being Exposed In Far East, Says Report Communist double-talk direct to Asia is at long last being exposed to the people of the Far East, it was disclosed here today by John W. Elwood, director of Radio Free Asia. A broadcast just beamed to Red dominated China and countries on its boders told its listeners how the Soviets change word meanings to suit their own purposes of Kremlin-dictated aggression and control. "What the communists call "Pemocracy" is not what we mean ; by the term," the program commentator com-mentator declared. "Nor are what we call right or wrong the same as the Red meanings applied to those words." The commentator told his audience aud-ience that the word "people" in communist parlance has different meanings, depending upon current plans of the Soviets. "When they call you an enemy of the "people" or say that the Chinese 'people' love their Soviet So-viet brothers," he explained, "then these 'people' are the Red leaders themselves. But when the communists commun-ists refer to those who 'must join the army enthusiastically,' 'must contribute to the airplane and artillery artil-lery funds' and whp 'must toil and produce' they are no longer re- |
