Show Miss Marlene Oakley Will Wed Ted J. Scow in Temple June 14 Pretty Miss Marlene Oakley, BYU coed, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Oakley will plight her troth with Ted J. Scow, BYU graduate, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arvin Scow of Orangeville, in Manti Temple rites June 14. Announcement of the engagement and approaching marriage of the couple were made known this week by parents of the bride, who plan a reception for the couple on June 17, in the Second ward church. A reception will also be given by his parents in Orangeville on June 18. Immediately after the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds will be guests of honor at a breakfast given by the groom's aunt in Manti, for members of the wedding party. After a short honeymoon, the couple will go to Salt Lake to live for the summer and he will be employed with the atomic commission. com-mission. The bride-elect is a junior at the BYU, where she has been prominently affiliated with music and art organizations. She is secretary sec-retary of the Art Guild, a member of the Spanish Club and also of the "Y" a'cappclla choir. She plans to continue her education at the BYU in the fall. Ted is a gradaute of Carbon high, where he was prominent in athletics. He will receive his degree from the BYU -in geology this spring but plans to continue work for his master's degree in the fall. |
