'V.. 1 -k.I - v , - : 2 i . v :' ; Open House Reception Will Honor i Mr, Mrs, John R. Kindred Saturday . Celebrating fifty years of happy j married life, Mr., and Mrs. John R. Kindred will be honored with an open house reception Saturday evening, June 5, from 6 until 9:30 ' p.m., in the Third-Ninth ward amusement hall. No formal invitations invi-tations are being issued, but all relatives and friends of the couple are invited to call on them at this time. The family requests no gifts.-Both gifts.-Both Mr. and Mrs. Kindred were born in Springvilie and have lived here their entire life with exception excep-tion of a year in Payson. It is interesting in-teresting to note also that both have always lived in the Third ward. They have practically grownup grown-up with it since its organization in 1893. Mr. Kindred was born on October Octo-ber 18, 1882, a son of John R. and Luanna Bird Kindred. , He served as ward clerk and was president of the YMMXA during his earlier years and recently filled a 2-year stake mission in Kolob stake. He is now employed with the Raleigh Co., but his spare time is spent in his garden where he specializes in the growing of daffodils, tulips, iris and chrysanthemums. Many of their friends have been the recep-ients recep-ients of lovely bouquets of flowers from the Kindred garden on various var-ious occasions. Mr. Kindred served as volunteer fireman for many years and is a life member of the State Firemen's association. He is presently treasurer treas-urer of the Utah-Juab Firemen's organization, a position he has held for the past 22 years. Mrs. Kindred was born Mabel Mower, January 11, 1884. Her parents par-ents were Oscar and Elizabeth Beardall Mower. She has served as a class leader in Sunday School and a teacher in the MIA and in Primary. She has also been an active ac-tive member of the ward and the stake genealogical committee. She has been in the Relief Society many years, and she has served as a class leader and has been a visiting teacher for 33 years. She is also a member of Camp Spring Creek DUP and has held various positions in past years in the DTJP organizations. Mr. and Mrs. Kindred were married mar-ried on June 1, 1904, in the Salt Lake temple. As a wedding gift, her parents gave them a half-acre lot at 801 North Main St., where they built their home and have lived throughout their married life rearing to maturity a family of seven sons and daughters. They are Clifford M. Kindred of Idaho Falls; Mrs. Marie Webster of Logan; Lo-gan; J. Crede Kindred of Ogden; F. Berne Kindred of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Louise Fifield of Preston, Pres-ton, Ida.; Ted B. Kindred of Sun-land, Sun-land, Calif.; Mrs. Bethe Nelson of Twin Falls, Ida. There are also 25 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Kindred are looking look-ing forward to greeting most of their family group of 45, as well as their many friends and relatives on this happy occasion. |
