Show Senator Announces' Examinations for Service Academies Young Utahns who desire to compete for admission into a federal fed-eral service academy in the Fall of 1955 today were invited by Senator Arthur V. Watkins (R-Utah) to apply for permission to take a written Civil Service examination to be given July 12. Deadline for applcatons is June 9, 1954. The examination, Senator Wat-kins Wat-kins said, will be limited to young men in good physical condition who will be between the ages of 17 and 21, inclusive, on July 1, 1955. The 3 -hour examination will include questions on vocabulary vocab-ulary and reading, ability to recognize recog-nize 3-dimensional figures, , and algebra. Examinations will be given in major Utah cities and at the larger lar-ger post officers throughout the United States. Results of the tests are utilized by the Utah Senator as a guide in selecting candidates for appointment to the U. S. military, mili-tary, naval, and air force academies acade-mies for four years government paid education. |
