Show 'I s Mr. and Mrs. Dale Allred entertained enter-tained at dinner Sunday evening for Mr. and Mrs. Donald Leek and daughter Vicky of Delta, Mrs. May B. Jensen of Salt Lake City I and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Brown. yew5 rioted Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Parson of this city were in Rexburg, Ida., the past week looking for a place to live. He will be head of the art department at Ricks College in that city, his work to begin with the summer school. Mrs. Melba Scalmanini of San Francisco, Calif., is spending a few days " with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Roylance in this city. Mr. Roylance is recovering from an illness which confined him to the hospital recently for a few days. Melba plans to return re-turn home Saturday making the trip both ways by plane. Mr. and Mrs. D. Ford CrandaU were in Springvilie for Memorial Day and visited Ford's mother, Mrs. Emily Crandall. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Wright were in Delta Sunday to spend Memorial Day. Mr. and Mrs. Arville Ence and daughters Elaine and Mary Louise are spending a few days vacation in Wyoming. The girls plan to stay during the summer and will be employed in their uncle's place of business. . Mr. and Mrs. Mell Kelly returned re-turned to Springvilie recently from Oakland, Calif., where they spent the winter. Mrs. Kelly will remain here for a while, but her husband has returned, making the trip by plane and will resume his work with his son-in-law in the jewelry business. Mrs. Kelly is enjoying a visit from her two little grandchildren Kelly and Stephen Graber, who came up from Oakland, Calif., accompanied accompan-ied by Miss Josephine Wilson and are staying here while their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Graber (Barbara Kelly) vacation in Las Vegas and Jackson Hole, and they will also visit here. The children and Miss Wilson will go back by plane on Saturday. Frank Jenkins of this city was called home from Las Vegas, Nev. the past week because of the death of his father, Wm. M. Jenkins Jen-kins of Nephi, for whom funeral services were held Saturday. Attending At-tending the services from Springvilie, Spring-vilie, besides Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins Jen-kins were Mr. and Mrs. George Roylance, Mrs. Grace McKenzie and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Tolley. ' Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Clark returned home from Winnemucca, Nev., where they visited over the weekend with a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lamond Hig-bee Hig-bee and family.- They went especially espec-ially to attend the graduation of their grandson Larry and Calvin Higbee, both from the Eighth grade, and the Olarks report it was a sight to see the boys and girls in maroon-colored caps and gowns. They saw a fine parade and rodeo while there and also a Mrs. Zelma BeardaU had as her guests over the Memorial weekend her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Swenson and family fam-ily of Roosevelt and a son Keith Beardall and wife and baby daughter dau-ghter of Huntington. Mrs. May B. Jensen of Salt Lake City visited over the Memorial Mem-orial weekend with relatives and friends in Springvilie. Mrs. A. V. Sanford of Salt Lake City spend the weekend visiting with relatives and friends here. Mrs. Retta Sumsion has returned return-ed to her home in Springvilie following a few weeks visit with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Dalby and family in Walnut Creek,. Calif. Recent visitors at the Charles Franks home in Brookside were her son Clerin Zumwalt and wife and their two sons of St. George. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Thorpe enjoyed en-joyed a visit from their daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Mar-vin Warner and three children of Salt Lake City the past week. of Roosevelt also visited in this city with her parents and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Miner had as their guests Memorial Day, Mrs. Alda Alleman and daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Wil-bur Tippetts of Salt Lake' City. whisker contest which the i"r daughter Janice helped judge. Mrs. Anna Johnson enjoyed a visit from her son Dr. Clair Johnson John-son and wife of Ogden on Memorial Mem-orial Day. Mickey Nielson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Nielson', has gone to Nephi, where she will be employed for the summer. Bryan Bird and daughter Joan of Midvale visited in Springvilie Memorial Day. Mrs. Bird is attending at-tending the national convention of federated women's clubs in Denver, Colo., and plans to go on to Manhatten,. Kan., to visit relatives. rel-atives. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Carter and son Linwood and Don Banford and Mrs. Shirley Schardine and little daughter were in Ogden Sunday evening to attend a missionary farewell for Mr. Carter's brother John Carter and wife who are leaving for New Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Sumsion have as their guests their daughters, daugh-ters, Mrs. Don Miller (Beverly) and three children of Garden Grove, Calif. They came up with Mr. and Mrs. Dean Andrews (Susan (Su-san Sumsion) of Lemon Grove, Calif, who are enroute to Lackland Lack-land AFB where Dean will be stationed. He also came for his graduation from the USAC. Mrs. Teressa. S. Sargent and little son |
