The Springville Musettes, well-known well-known choral group traveled to Benjamin and furnished music for the golden wedding anniversary open house honoring Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Cornaby Wednesday evening of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Cornaby Corn-aby are the parents of Mrs. Russell Childs of this city. Mr. and Mrs.-Charles Carpenter visited in Salt Lake City Sunday, when Mrs. Carpenter was honor guest at a birthday dinner at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joe M. Ferrin (Gretchen Greenlee). Other family members present included Mr. and Mrs. Andy Katsen (Bonnie Hales), Sheila, Roger and Kathy Hales, Joyce, Scott and Bruce Ferrin and Carol Lou Devey of Salt Lake; also Mr. and Mrs. Verl Rawlings (Betty Greenlee), Michael and Randy Rawlings. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Miner left early this morning on a vacation trip which will take them to San Juan, Porto Rico, where they plan to spend about three weeks with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Miner. They are making the trip by plane stopping in Denver and Chicago, and at Miami, Fla., where they will spend a day or two enroute. Their son Kent is stationed at San Juan with the armed forces and he is planning plan-ning to take his folks on several sight-seeing tours about the islands. is-lands. Major and Mrs. Paul K. Hansen (Mildred Parry) and children visited visit-ed in Springville recently with Mrs. Hansen's folks, Mr. and Mrs. Will Parry and also in Salt Lake City enroute to Offutt AFB in Nebraska, where Major Hansen will be stationed. He spent a 30-day furlough fur-lough in Springville visiting his mother Mrs. Helen Anderson and other relatives and also in Salt Lake City with his father Maurice Anderson. Fred Wm. Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jones is now located in Japan serving on the USS Phillip, Phil-lip, according to word received by his parents. A boiler-tender third class, he was recently serving in China waters. Mrs. Nellie Anderson had as her guests at a luncheon at Melody Inn Thursday, several nieces and other relatives, who were in Utah for the funeral services of Ben Kearsley of Salt Lake, earlier in the week. Guests included Mrs. Niel Thurman of Albany, Calif.; Mrs. Harold Jackson of San Francisco; Fran-cisco; also Mrs. Ben (Aileen) Kearsley and her daughter Janet and two daughters-in-law, . Mrs. Phil Kearsley and Mrs. Joe Kears-le Kears-le yof Salt Lake and Mrs. Mildred Newman of Springville. - Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Anderson and daughter Marsha and son Lynn of Salt Lake visited over the past weekend with Mrs. Nellie Anderson An-derson and other relatives and friends. Among the many out-of-town relatives in Springville for the funeral services of Mrs. Annie L. Wheeler Sunday afternoon, were a daughter, Mrs. Golden J. (Ellen) Sessions of Maiden, Wash., who is spending a few days here with her father and other relatives. Mr. Sessions was in Florida on business busi-ness and was unable to be here for the services. A son, Wm. J. Wheeler and family came from Helper; also a grandson Paul Wheeler from Long Beach; a granddaughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bottiger of Mil-ford. Mil-ford. Army Pfc. Albert B. Snyder, 94 W. Second S., Springville, recently recent-ly took part in a field training exercise held by the 4th Infantry Division in Germany. Training received re-ceived by the "Ivy" division, part of the U. S. Seventh army, includes intensive maneuvers and realistic field problems. Snyder, a welder in Service company of the division's divi-sion's 8th regiment, entered the army in October, 1954. He arrived in Europe last March. He is a 1952 graduate of Springville high school. His wife, Jeannette, lives at 326 E. Fifth So., Payson. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Snyder live in Springville. - Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Jones |
