Show DSA Winner Will Be Named at Banquet Tonight Springville will name its outstanding out-standing man of the year tonight at the 14th annual distinguished service award banquet in the Third-Ninth ward church with Kent Palfreyman of the Jaycees acting as general chairman. President Ernest L. Wilkinson of the Brigham Young University will give the address of the evening. Louis Schardine, president of the Springville Jaycees, which sponsor spon-sor the annual event, will give the welcome address and introduce the guests and state Jaycee officers in attendance. LaMar Miner will be master of ceremonies. Mayor A. W. Cherrington will briefly address the group and Glen Burnham, Utah Jaycee national director, will present the key-man keys to the Springville Jaycee winning win-ning these awards. Mrs. Maurice Bird will make the DSA winner presentation. Program numbers will be furnished by the Y student program bureau. Other Jaycees who have worked on the committee for the banquet besides chairman Palfreyman are Don Humphrey, Blaine Ostler, and Mrs. Bill Jones, decorations. " Past recipients of the DSA award since 1942 have been Harrison Harri-son Conover, Grant Thorn, Verl Whiting, Paul Haymond, A. H. Mortensen, Glen Turner, George Bird, Bert Strong, Dave Thomas, Leonard James, Mays Anderson, LaMar Miner, Bill Averett. |
