Show Mapleton Council Appoints Hew City ' Officers, Sets Vater Meter Rates At the Mapleton city council meeting Monday night it was decided to re-appoint Ray Whiting on the Planning Commission for a term of six years. He had filled the unexpired term ore! Robert Bird which terminated on December 31, 1955. At this meeting Mrs. Mabel Paulson was appointed as treasurer treasur-er to the Mapleton City Council to work on a trial basis for six months. She replaces Mrs. Jane Jensen who had resigned on account ac-count of other employment. A group of citizens living on Sixth North Street met with the council requesting the paving of this street from the canal west to 12th West and thence north to eighth North. This matter will be studied by the road committee. A special meeting of veterans of Mapleton will be held Tuesday, January 24, at 7:30 p.m. to discuss dis-cuss use of Memorial Fund. It was decided that the water meters are going to be read every three months. The minimum charge will be $2 per month for the first 18,000 gallons, then 10c for each additional 1,000 gallons. It is possible for water users to pay the minimum charge for the year and then have their account adjusted ad-justed as the year progresses, it was announced at the meeting. |
