Show LaMar Holley Is Chairman of Retail Merchants , LaMar Holley was elected chairman chair-man of the Retail Merchants' Committee for the current year, it was revealed in the ballots submitted submit-ted by members, according to Manager J. A. Miller. The board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce have also , appointed the following committee-I committee-I men: M. H. Harrison, education; LaRell Johnson, public affairs; Kay Johnson, recreation; Wm. G. Ruff, fire prevention; A. L. Thorpe highways- H. M. Weight, health and sanitation; Vernon Callahan, advertising and publicity and G. B. Bonspur, new industry. J. A. Miller also reported Wed-'( Wed-'( nesday that he had received a let- ter from Senator A. V. Watkins, in answer to an inquiry concerning concern-ing the reason for holding up funds for the Springville Armory building. build-ing. Senator Watkins said that the Springville armory had fourth priority pri-ority and if the schedule for buildings build-ings was followed, Springville would get the armory building in the fiscal year of 1955, the work to begin in July, 1944. After submitting the information informa-tion to the board of directors, Mr. Miller was instructed to contact General West to determine if the priority could be advanced. At the board meeting also, Mr. Miller reported on his recent meeting meet-ing at Pueblo, where he attended the meeting of the Mountain States Association. |
