Many prizes and awards await the winners of the state's first State To Select Safest Teen-Age Driver On May 9 Saturday, May 9, has been set as the date for the selection of the state's teen-age driving champion cham-pion in the Jaycee sponsored Teen-Age Teen-Age Road-e-o. Lawrence JVI. Brown, Salt Lake City, state chairman of the event indicated that participants in the contest will be winners from the local Jaycee chapters throughout the state. The winner of the state competition will go to Washington, Washing-ton, D. C, as Utah's representative representa-tive in the national Road-e-o sometime next summer, Mr. Brown said. The competition May 9 will be held at the Utah State Fairgrounds with the contestants driving actual act-ual cars provided by automobile dealers for the test. "The course is tricky, but safe," Mr. Brown indicated. "It will be a real test of skill and will emphasize em-phasize to the drivers and spectators spec-tators the need for constant alertness alert-ness and correct driving habits."
