Show Annual Art Tea Attracts 450 Clubwomen From Utah Approximately 450 federated club women from over the state attended the annual Art Tea, sponsored spon-sored by the nine federated clubs of Snrinjnrille Sat- urday .afternoon, at the art building. build-ing. Taking for their theme, 50 years of art in Springville, the committee commit-tee on decorations literally transformed trans-formed the Little Theater into a spring garden complete with pink geraniums and yellow daffodils entwined en-twined with ivy about a white picket fence. Pouring was from a table centered cen-tered with candles and flowers over a lace cloth. Pouring during the afternoon were: Mrs. I. R. Morrison, Salt Lake City; Mrs. W. W. Clyde, district president; Mrs. H. T. Reynolds, representing the art board; Mrs. Harold Christensen, Chris-tensen, state federation president; Mrs. Eugene Johnson, past Council Coun-cil president; Mrs. Harold Whiting, Whit-ing, representing the city. Guests were greeted in the lower gallery by president of the various var-ious clubs: Mrs. Bert Cherrington, Mrs. Alma Miner, Mrs. A. W. Cherrington, Mrs. C. A. Smith, Mrs. Ted Martindale, Mrs. Russell Blackett, Mrs. Mary Schwartz, Mrs. Earl Condie, Mrs. . Willard Ostlund, Mrs. W. W. Clyde, Mrs. Christensen and Mrs. Reynolds. An entertaining program was announced by Mrs. Oliver Dalton, who acted for Mrs. LaRell Johnson John-son who was ill. Mrs. Orval Clark and Mrs. R. W. Bradford entertained enter-tained with vocal selections, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Maurice Bird; Mrs. Bird, piano selections; David Dalton, violin numbers; piano selections, sel-ections, Jane Harrison; string music mu-sic by the Taylor trio and the high school trio composed of Betty Hoover, Ann Johnson and Jane Harrison gave numbers. A quartet from the high school composed of Bertrand Early, Packard Condie, Glen Gottfredson and Richard Robbins entertained with numbers and the 60-voice Bel Canto chorus also gave music during the afternoon. after-noon. Chairmen of the various phases of the tea included: Mrs. Wm. L. Schreiner, reception; Mrs. G. W. Sumsion, serving; Mrs. D. LaRell Johnson, program; Mrs. Jimmie Lawrence, decorations; Mrs. Ralph Child, Mrs. Roy Anderson, refreshments; refresh-ments; Mrs. J. F. Wingate, dishes, tables, chairs; Mrs. A. W. Cherrington, Cher-rington, publicity; Mrs. Grant Pal-freyman', Pal-freyman', invitations; all of whom were assisted by groups from the various clubs. |
