Show Ladies Literary Club At Spring Party A lovely party of the spring season sea-son was that given for members of the Ladies Literary club on Thursday evening of last week at the home of Mrs. A. E. Jacobsen with Mrs. Wm. L. Schreiner as co-hostess. Early in the evening, the members mem-bers were seated at small tables centered with pale yellow candles entwined with hyacinths. At each place was a miniature unbrella in a pastel shade holding a tiny bouquet bou-quet of violets. After the luncheon, the ladies opened the umbrella to find a verse on spring and the games of the evening began by the reading of the verses and naming the author. au-thor. Several other appropriate games all with a springtime theme were enjoyed and prizes were won by Mrs. Paul Thorn and Mrs. Harold Har-old Christensen. Mrs. Wilford Jar-rard Jar-rard of Alhambra, Calif., was a guest. Mrs. E. T. Crandall was in charge and announced the next meeting to be on April 30, at the home of Mrs. J. Y. Bearnson and the Mothers Day and Guest Day program and dinner to be on Saturday Sat-urday evening, May 9, at the Social So-cial Center in Spanish Fork. The preceding meeting of the club was held at the home of Mrs. C. A. Smith and included a delightful de-lightful review of the book, "Under My Hat" by Hedda Hopper given by Rea Straw. New officers were also elected during the evening to include: Mrs. E. T. Crandall, president; Mrs. Blanch Beal, vice president; Mrs. A: E. Jacobsen, secretary and Mrs. Oliver Dalton, program chairman. Mrs. Smith is the retiring president; presi-dent; Mrs. Crandall served as vice-president; vice-president; Mrs. Paul Thorn as program pro-gram chairman and Mrs. Wm. H." , Brown, secretary. |
