The hearing held before the public service commission today to-day upon the complaint lodged by Attor- ney Jurlch on behalf of the citizens against the suspension of train service I by the Nevada Northern attracted wide- I spread Interest. . The principal merchants and- business men of .the community were called and testified that there was a serious shortage of foodstuffs, that there were no hams or bacon In the district and, unless train service Is resumed within the next ten days, the entire district will be entirely out of many common necessities. Colonel L. G. Cannon, when representing represent-ing the railroad at the hearing, was asked If the company would submit matters between be-tween the management and employees to arbitration and positively refused to reply re-ply to this question, while the chairman of the committee, representing the employees em-ployees affected, said, while he was not so authorized, he would take It upon himself to say that the men would submit sub-mit to arbitration of all questions In dispute. dis-pute. Colonel Cannon notified the citizens committee that after Saturday next the company would suspend operation of its train service entirely on account of inability in-ability to keep up Its equipment.
