Show PLAYING SAFE. In view cf the fact that the lives of so many hundreds of thousands of soldiers were insured by the government govern-ment and the further fact that m.-.ny of the men have kept up their payments after returning to civil life it is somewhat some-what remarkable that the amount of new business written during the first six months of the year by sixty-four life insurance companies is nearly double dou-ble the amount written by the same companies in the corresponding period last year, according to the Insurance Press. The Springfield Republican remarks re-marks that "most people w-iil agree that insurance agents couldn't have been twice as eloquent or persistent this year." Terhaps the true reason is that in this high cost of living era the people are placing a higher value upon themselves and are not content to pass on without making some kind of a stir. We notice that the soldiers who have allowed their policies to lapse since demobilization have been offered a chance cf reinstatement. We believe it would be good policy for them to take advantage of the opportunity be- j fore the. time limit expires. 1 - I |
