Show FUNERAL OF PIONEER IS LARGELY ATTENDED Special to The Tribune. SPANISH FORK, Sept. 9. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the City pavilion for Mrs. Eliza Jex, or "Grandma" Jex as she was lovingly called by all who knew her. The large pavilion was filled fo its seating seat-ing capacity find the floral offerings were manv and verv beautiful. Bishop "Weils T. Brnckbank was In charge of the service. Judge C. W. Booth I of Provo offered the invocation. The first number of the service was an autobiographical autobio-graphical sketch of the life of Eliza Jex read by Mrs. Edna Brockbank. A verbatim ver-batim report of the testimonial and speech given by Airs. Jex at the last family reunion also was read by Mrs. Brockbank. The speakers were President Joseph Reece of the Nebo slake. President George H. Brimhall of the B. Y. U. at Provo, Henry A. Gardner and Dr. Joseph Hughes. The speakers paid eloquent tributes trib-utes to the exemplary life of Mrs. Jex. Musical numbers were given bv the Second Sec-ond ward choir and in addition -George Harrison of Springvjlie sang a solo. John Beck offered the benediction and the servie at the grave was conducted by Bishop A. T. Money. The mound was completely covered with flowers. |
