Proclamation issued yesterday by Governor Gov-ernor B mber?rer names October Z as thrift registration day in the schools ot the state. On that day every teacher and pupil in the schools will be asked to sign a pledge to help the government keep do.wn the cost of living by agreeing to practice thrift through savings and investments in government securities. This action is taken by Governor Ham-Berger Ham-Berger at the request of the United States treasury department as part, of a 1 program to force down prices on food i ami other necessities. j The proclamation reads : , "As one phase of its attack- on high 1 prices, the federal government has named : October 3 as thrift registration day in i schools throughout the United Stales.
