Show SOLDIERS MAY APPLY FOR EQUIPMENT DUE Discharged soldiers who have not received re-ceived personal equipment to which they are entitled upon release from the service, serv-ice, may obtain it by making application, according" to word received yesterday from Congressman James H. Mays. The following" letter in regard to the matter was written by Congressman Mays: "My attention has been called to the fact that every enlisted man in the American Ameri-can army was entitled to take with him upon discharge the following property: One overseas cap for all enlisted men who had service overseas, or one hat cord for all enlisted men; one drab shirt, service coat and ornaments, one pair of breeches, one pair of shoes, pair of legging, barracks bag. waist belt, set of toilet articles, one slicker, one overcoat, one suit of underwear, under-wear, four pairs of stockings, one pair of gloves, gas mask and helmet (if issued overseas), and three scarlet chevrons. "Those who desire can make application . direct to me, and 1 will take great pleasure plea-sure in forwarding the necessary blanks and procure the property for them at once." |
