TTZE open-air performance of Kyra, the oriental dancer, and her troupe of dancing frills, who took part in the program of dedication for the new Pantages theator stage on Main street south of the Kearns building, attracted an audionco of several hundred persons yesterday afternoon. The new theater will ho completed November 1, according to Frank R. Newman, manager of the Pantages. Pan-tages. Kyra was the first to appear on the stage, giving "The Assyrian Shawl Dance." "The East India Nautch Dance," by three girls of Kyra's troupe, was the second number on the program, which ended with the "Twentieth Country Cou-ntry Egyptian Jazz Dance," by Kyra. Overtures wero played by the Pantages orchestra under tho direction of Eddie Ftzpatrick. The dancers were taken to the theater from tho Pantages by automobile. . A moving van served as a dressing room. |
