Show OZOKERITE RECEIVED FROM GREENRIVER A Bampla of mineral wax was received yesterday from James K, Fleming' of Greenriver by J. S. Earley, secretary of the Utah Manufacturers' association. Mr. Fleming stated that he had a deposit of 1Mb wax and that he was anxious to jet In touch with consumers of this mineral. The sample Inclosed resembles In ap-' ap-' pearance asphalt: it Is dark brown in i color, has the consistency of oil shale, ir.d when burnt gives off an odor like that of burning asphalt. The technical 1 name of mineral wax is ozokerite, which is a natural hyrdocarbon wax, found in ! brire Quantities in Galicla, Utah, and in Colorado. It is uBed largely in the manufacture man-ufacture of candles. |
