Show SON OF I G. FELL DIES FROM INJURY Young Man Fatally Hurt When His Automobile Turns Turtle. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, March 31. Arthur G. Fell. Jr., 30 years of age, only son of former Mayor and Mrs. A. G. Fell, was fatally injured at 4 o'clock this morning when the automobile auto-mobile he was driving turned turtle upon a curve three miles south of this city. Helen S'eibold, IS years of age, daughter ofMr. and Mrs. J. W. Seibold, 2045 Jackson Jack-son avenue, and Lester James Flygare, 2S years of age, son of City Commissioner and Mrs. Chris Flygaie, were slightly in-iured. in-iured. Soon after the accident occurred assistance was rendered and the injured were rushed to the Dee hospital, but Fell died before reaching the city. According to statements made by Miss Seibold and voting Flygare. they were riding in the front seat with Fell, who was driving the auto, which belonged to his father. The curve was not noticed until thev were right upon it. Then, without reducing the speed of the big car. an attempt was made to make the turn. The car left the road and turned turtle. The trio wrere pinned under the car. Flygare managed to attract the attention atten-tion of some farmers and they came to his assistance. The car was raised enough to permit Flvgnre and the girl to crawl out. Then it was necessary to lift up the car, the side of which was resting upon Fell's chest. As soon as the injured were taken from under the car a small auto was secured and they w'ere brought to the city. Miss Seibold said she was of the opinion that Fell died as soon as they had started to the city. She said that when the accident happened she heard Fell 'give one terrible groan and after that she did not hear a sound from him. While en route to the citv, she said, she turned a no looked back, at Fell, who was in the back seat with Flygare, and she noticed that his eves were set. Miss Seibold and Flygare were discharged dis-charged from .the hospital at 10 o'clock this morning. The injuries of the former consisted of a badly wrenched arm, while the latter was injured about the chest and body. The automobile top and the wind shield were smashed, the steering wheel bent and the radiator broken in the accident. The w recked car was brought to the city this afternoon. Arthur Fell was stricken with typhoid fever about four years ago while attending attend-ing school at the University of California. He wras left deaf as the result of the sickness. About two years ago. at Berkeley, Berke-ley, Cal.. he was married lo a niece of Mrs. Potter Palmer of Chicago. The couple were divorced last November and Mrs. Fell went to Chicago to reside with her aunt. In addition to the parents, three sisters survive. One of the sisters resides in Oakland and the arrangements for the funeral will not be made until site is heard from. |
