Show THREE WOUNDED IN iTWT RIOTS Mob Begins Pillaging Hardware Hard-ware Stores ; Cardinal Appeals for Order. QUEBEC, March 31. The wild scenes of disorder and destruction here since last Thursday night suddenly ceased late tonight, "when Armand Lavergne, a Nationalist, Na-tionalist, addressing a mob- that had broken Into a hardware store, asked the rioters to desist from disorder for two days, stating that he had reached an agreement with the military authorities. Tills agreement, he said, provided for the removal of troops from the streets and the replacing of the Dominion police In connection with the enforcement of the m Hilary service act by men "who had the respect and confidence of the ! public." Three persons were wounded tonight in a battle between troops and a mob of antl-conscriptlonlsts. The clash occurred while soldiers were removing firearms from hardware stores to the citadel to ! keep them from falling into the hands of J tlie rioters. The precaution was decided upon after the pillaging early this morning morn-ing of a store handling firearms and ammunition. x, The action of the troops was resented by the antl-conscriptionistd, who began pelting the soldiers with missiles. The persons wounded, two cf whom were young women, were some distance from the scene. None of them were seriously j injured.
