Salt Lake invited the interraountain west to the auto show; and the west is coming1. Yesterday the attendance, both afternoon after-noon and evening, was far beyond the average of any previous motor exhibition. The snowstorm may have had some effect ef-fect on the attendance, but, If so, it was hardly apparent. Dealers and visitors from outside the city, mostly from the near-by Utah towns, attended the show in large numbers during dur-ing the second day's session. It was reported re-ported that there were eighty-six dealers from Utah towns at the opening fere-monies fere-monies Monday night. Manager Rishel and the dealers 'executive committee axe very much elated over the big attendance attend-ance thus far, and predict that it will J grow to enormous proportions as the week ' advances. j Tonight the one big feature of the week j for the visiting dealers is to be heM at ; the Hotel Utah. At 6:30 sharp the auto- ! mobile fraternity of the intermountadn 1 west will sit down to a bountiful feast, j the guests of the local distributors. The outstanding feature of the exhibition exhibi-tion is the great interest all visitors are manifesting in every car that is on display. dis-play. They hover around the different booths and keep the salesmen and man agers busy exoiaining the different points of their respective autos and trucks. And the truck has come into its own. Xo Ion ire r is the sturdy rower wagon sidetracked side-tracked for the passenger car. At Salt Lake's show the spectators look upon them with pride, because they know what they have done and what they are yet expected to do' in the way of lifting the national freight embargo. 1 Miss Farm Tractors. ; One important feature in which the in- ! ternal combustion engine takes the leading lead-ing part is missing from this exhibit. It is the farm tractor. Many came to the show expecting to find this new and revolutionary revo-lutionary motor-driven machine in some of fjie booths. Xot finding them, .they he ve done the next best thintr hunted them up at tne machinery houses wh?re they are known to be kept. The interest displayed In farm tractors is apparently a sincere and whole-hearted desire to get 1 acquainted with a motive power that promises to do so much for the war-crop ; programme during the coming season. ; As it was Monday, so yesterday all the booths were centers of attraction for all visitors. Ea.ch, passenger car exhibit was crowded with spectators, especially last nisrht. It seemed that the people never t ired of viewing the . new models or of hearing a?ain and again the story of their power, build and stamina. Many of the accessory displays have ben added to since the opening nfht and now present a much more complete and enhanced appearance. Also thev are proving more of an attraction to the show v;m:-ts.
