FRIENDS FELICITATE PRESIDENT PENROSE Congratulations were yesterdav afternoon after-noon given by, numerous friends to Charles W. Penrose of the first presidency presi-dency of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who today reached the eighty-sixth milestone in an" active life. President Penrose held an informal reception re-ception at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Strlngham; 107 F street, and scores of friends called to pay their respect to and fecilitate the venerable church official offi-cial on account of his wonderful activity at his advanced age. ' Mr. Penrose was born In London En"-lnd. En"-lnd. February 4, 1S32, coming to Utah ih 1S61, first settling at Farmlngton, Davis Da-vis county. He drove an ox team across the plains and over the mountains from the Missouri river to Salt Lake City
