Show . BHI if SETS PAGE MOOTERS Conditions for trapshooting were more or less favorable at the Salt Lake Gun club yesterday. The glare from the sun on the snow proved a handicap for some of the marksmen to overcome, but notwithstanding not-withstanding this handicap high scores were turned in. A. F. Nelson, a visitor from the Bingham Gun club, was high gun with a score of 49 out of 50. Nelson won high praise from the large attend-L. attend-L. E. Riter was the star of the day. His brilliant shooting put him a winner in every event on the programme. Riter outdistanced all other competitors by smashing 4S skimmers out of a possible 50. After being tied in every event, Riter shot all other shooters off their feet in the shoot-offs. "Kaiser's" Wings Clipped. The "kaiser" was not so successful in eluding Dr. J. F. Irvine .yesterday as he was two weeks ago when he gave the doctor the slip and made good his escape. es-cape. The doctor was laying for the emperor em-peror this time and when the "kaiser" put in his appearance he was smashed into a puff of smoke. The spoon shoot furnished some exceptionally excep-tionally classy shooting, six guns tying for first honors with perfect scores, Riter, Taylor, Mitchell, Barney, Rumel and Cul-bert Cul-bert each broke 25 targets straight. In the shoot-off Riter won after being pushed to the limit. Four shooters Riter, Taylor, Klein and Barney tied in the challenge medal shoot, each pulverizing 25 out of 25 tar birds. Riter again won the shoot-off by going 25 straight. The first shoot for the Cerva cup, a beautiful loving cup donated by the Lemp Brewing company, was shot for yesterday. The point system is to govern this event and is to continue for eight Sundays. The point winners at yesterday"s shoot were: Riter, Taylor, Mitchell,' Barnev- and Rumel. three points each; Ford, Wharton and Culbert. two points each, and Charley Reilley, one point.
