Show CKJ8PP,ffl Oden Meeting Hears Report Re-port by Superintendent of Industrial School. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Feb. 3. That the food furnished fur-nished is the best that can be purchased, pur-chased, and amusement features furnished fur-nished by the Knights of Columbus and the Y. M. C A. welfare camps are above the average, was the statement made by Superintendent E. S. Hinckley of the state industrial school today at the meeting meet-ing of the Women ot American Patriots. The organization, which wes formed by the women of the city and country who have sons and husbands in the service ser-vice of the United States, aims to meet every Sunday afternoon. Eetters are read from the boys in all branches cf the service, either in the camps in this country or "somewhere overseas." -At the meeting today, after, the routine reports re-ports were received, the women listened to the able address by one who had visited Camp Kerrny recently and had studied the actual conditions. In beginning his talk, Superintendent Hinckley said that he had found- all the boys trom this city and county in the camp in good health and high spirits. He said the food was excellent and there was no better to be purchased. The classes of amusement furnished by the Knights of Columbus and the T. M. C. A. were highly praised by the speaker, who said the class of entertainment was greatly enjoyed by the boys and caused them to prefer the camp to the city. There are 40.000 men in the camp, the speaker told the women, and this camp covers about four square miles. The sanitation is better than in any city in the country. The sewerage and drainage is far superior to that of Ogden or Salt Lake, he speaker asserted. Assurances have been received by the general committee of the Knights of Columbus Co-lumbus war camp welfare fund that the big public meeting to be held Monday evening at the Orpheum theater will be attended by Governor Bamberger, the Rt. F.ev. Joseph Glass and Colonel Has-brouck, Has-brouck, besides a number of others from Salt Lake. A programme of music by the Orpheum orchestra, with vocal selections by weil-known weil-known artists of the city will be given, in addition to short talks by the visitors from Salt Lake and the following Ogden men: President John Watson, the Rev, J. E. Carver, the Rev. C. R. Garver. C. A. Boyd, E. S. Hinckley and H- C. Johnson. John-son. The meeting will begin at S o'clock. |
