Show PIERCE SELLS OUT CANNING INTERESTS H. L. Herrington Is Purchaser and Will Become President and General Manager. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN. March 10. T. N. Pierce, president presi-dent and one of the founders of the Utah Canning company, one of the oldest institutions in-stitutions of its kind in the state, announced an-nounced this afternoon that he had sold his interests in the company to H. L. Hofrlngton. who will become the president and general manager of the concern. The consideration is given as $45,000. In Mr. Pierce came to Ogden from Nebraska and established a canning factory, fac-tory, which devoted its attention to to- 1 matoes only. Later when the Utah Can- : ning company was organized, the scope of , the industry was increased to other food products. The present factory occupies the same site selected thirty years ago by Mr. Pierce with his first small factory. Mr. Pierce said today that he was not ready to announce his future plans. |
