The state fuel administrator yestcr-which yestcr-which the petition for increase in prices of coal at the Utah mines is to be considered, will be held at the ! Commercial club next vl onday morn-! morn-! ing, beginning at 10 o'clock. At the meeting the bituminous coal 'producers of the. state are expected to 'attend and present data in .support of their contention that they arc entitled to increased prices over those prescribed pre-scribed bv President Wilson, August 11)17, and revised by the order of October Oc-tober 27. The administrator expects -the operators opera-tors to present information respecting . the cost of production during certain I months of 1917; increases in the cost of production during the last month due to the recent wage increase, and increases in the cost of material; and the difficulties under which coal is produced pro-duced in Utah. The administrator further expects the public, to be represented at this meeting. meet-ing. Inasmuch as he has received numerous nu-merous complaints from consumers against the prices allowed to Utah producers pro-ducers .by the president, he, is expecting representatives of both household ami industrial consuiriers to listen to tho eLaims of the operators and to present any arguments agai nut an i n crease i n the mine price of coal which they wish to offer. The public, however, will not bo '. made acquainted with the costs of any particular producer, as the fuel administrator admin-istrator does not. intend to have confidential confi-dential information respecting any company com-pany made public. The costs of each producer will bo made public, in the petition, Jmt these will lie made known to the public only bv numbers and not by tho name; of the companies. |
