Show MOVIES OF HALIFAX DISASTER COME WEST First Pictures of Holocaust Will Be Shown as Special Feature of Orpheum Or-pheum Bill Next Wednesda7. The fir6t motion pictures of the Halifax Hali-fax disaster to reach the nest will .be ia Salt Lake earlj' next week, in time to form a special attraction' on tho regular vaudeville bill of the Orpheum theater. Manager Edward t. Levy yesterday yes-terday received a telegram teling' 0f the shipment of the pictures which are coming west as fast as express trains can carry them. Tho pictures will bo a part of the Patho news. The telegram received by Mr. Levy detailed that tho motion pictures woro taken by a camera operator who happened hap-pened to be in Halifax, and that they form a first-hand storv of the holocaust holo-caust which cost upwards of 4000 lives and the serious injury of thousands more. Tho operator succeeded in securing se-curing some pictures tho first day and additional fibns after the blizzard started. start-ed. Filming the blizzard almost cost tho man his life and the films, as it was necessary to transport the pictures from the port by boat to the nearest rail station where they were rushed to w York, developed and printed Thursday Thurs-day and yesterday morning started westward. |
