Show BAKER PUNCTURES ANOTliERFALSEHOOD WA SHINGTON. Dec. 14. Quartermaster Quartermas-ter Goneral Sharpe has advised Secretary Baker that there was no foundation for reports that Oregon troops recently stationed sta-tioned at Camp Mills had been sent to camp without blankets. All the men had three blankets, General Sharpe said, except ex-cept a few who had sold one and retained two. II developed today that the quartpr-master quartpr-master general's report was on file nt the war department when Secretary Tiaker, a few days ago, ordered an inquiry in response re-sponse to criticism by the governor of Oregon. It had been submitted as a mat-tor mat-tor of routine on account of published complaints, and had not been brought to the personal attention of the secretary. |
