Daniel McRae, prominent building contract con-tract or and pioneer farmer, died at bis residence in Granger lale Thursday night at the ae of 71 yeans. jMr, McRae was born in Nauroo, TIL. April 11, $4tj, but came to Utah in 1S5'J with his parents, Alexander and Eijuh-e McRae, who accompanied a company of pioneers. In Sal I Lake county, and later became one of the prominent contractors of this city though he did not entirely abandon farming. farm-ing. He .served several terms, aggregating aggregat-ing ten years, in the Utah legislature, represent ing' Salt fa ke county, and was for mora than thirty years bishop of Granger. For a number of years he was also engaeed as superintendent of buildings build-ings of the Granite school district. Mr. McRae was always keenly interested i n p abj ic affairs and was widely ten own throughout the state. Funeral services will Vie held at .the Granger meeting- house, but the time and date have not yet been definitely fixed. Friends desiring to attend win leave on the Orem trains ar. Grant srtation. In addition to the widow, Christina Jensen McRae, Mr. McRae is survived by nine children, as follows. Mrs. T. Kin-nersley Kin-nersley and D. J. McRae, both of this city; Orson X. McRae and Mrs. Sa.muel G e rber. both of G ran ge r ; Mrs. Orson Spencer of Miller, Utah; Mrs. J. R. Williams Wil-liams of Thomas, Idaho; Mrs. Lafavette Irving of West Jordan, Utah; Orrin McRae Mc-Rae of San Fracnsco, Cal., and W. F. McRae Mc-Rae of Kos Angeles, Cal. A brother, D. S. McRae of Salt Take, and three sifters. Mis. Mary Pierce of Salem, Utah; Mrs. Martha Tngrahani of Salt LeJie and Mrs. Gorge W. Montague Mon-tague of Madison, Ind., also survive him. |
