Nibley, presiding bishop of the llormon church, was elected general manager man-ager of the Utah-Idaho Sugar company at a special meeting of the board of directors of the organization yesterday afternoon. Merrill Xibley will be retained as assistant assist-ant general manager-Wit manager-Wit h expressions of regret, the board accepted the resignation of T. R. . Cutler as general manager. He will retain the position of vice president and will hold hie membership on the board of directors. In recognition of Mr. Cutler's long and faithful services with the company, the board of directors voted that his compensation compen-sation should take the form of a life annuity. an-nuity. The board of directors also took action on the proposed subscription to the Liberty Lib-erty loan and pledged 5250,000 to the fund. Besides pledging the company to a generous subscription, the board -voted to furnish employees with Liberty bonds on the installment plan. The meeting was held in the offices of the company in the Vermont building. President Joseph F. Smith presided at the meeting, and all members of the board except W. H. Wattis, who is out of the state, were in attendance. Besides President Smith, those present were: Thomas R. Cutler, W. S. McCornick, He-ber He-ber J. Grant. John C. Cutler. George Rom-nev, Rom-nev, C. W. Nibley and James D. M unlock. |
