Joseph, chairman chair-man of (ho parade committee, has announced an-nounced that arrangements have been made with the mayor and the city commission com-mission to keep the main streets cleared of traffic, and money has been appropriated appro-priated for decorations. Free Tickets for Children. Mr. Joseph has also asked the Utah "Light Traction company for 400 free street, car tickets, to be given to school children who will help to decorate the graves of the war veterans on Memorial Me-morial day. The utilities commission, to which the matter was referred, decided de-cided that the traction company may grant the tickets if it desires. A battalion comprising !20 officers and men from the Twentieth infantry will take part in tho parade tomorrow, in accordance with orders issued yesterday yes-terday of Colonel Alfred Hasbrouck, commander of the Twentieth. ThV battalion will form on the main parade gronnds of the fort at S:45 tomorrow to-morrow morning and march, under Major Ma-jor L. B. Simonds, battalion eomraan-der, eomraan-der, from the fort to Eagle Gate, where it will take its place in the general parade organization. The parade battalion is to be made np of two squads from each letter cora-pany cora-pany of the regiment. Lieutenant J. H. Keaney will be battalion adjutant. The first eompanv will be under command com-mand of Captain William H. Taylor and Lieutenant O. A. Straub. The second H'ompanv will be commanded by Captain Cap-tain Sylvester C. Lorins and Lieutenant 1 B. Russell, the third company by '.Captain Harry L. Jordan and Lieutenant Lieuten-ant H. C. Sweeney, the fourth by Cap-' Cap-' tain Clvde L. Eastman and Lieutenant T. E. Mont.- The first company will be composed ;pf two squads each from A B and C companies, the second of two squads '. each from T), E and F companies, the third from O, H, and T companies, and the fourth from K, L and M companies. com-panies. ""Spanish War Veterans to Aid. The Spanish "War Veterans will assemble as-semble at the Eagles' hall at 9: In tomorrow to-morrow morning and go from there to t1he City cemetery. A forty-piece band will accompany them. After the ritualistic rit-ualistic ceremony they will return to town in time to participate in the general gen-eral parade. All Spanish war veterans are urged to be at the hall at the stipulated stip-ulated time. Flans have been perfected by the officers of-ficers of the Daughters of Utah Indian ."War Veterans for decorating the graves of the veterans. State Regent M iss Emma E. Lindsey will go to Ogden Wednesday morning to take care of the decorating there. The Salt Lake Boy Scouts will participate par-ticipate as a body in the Memorial day celebration by helping the police in the handling of tho crowds along the line of march. All scouts in the city are requested re-quested to report at the police station, public, safety department, at OiliO tomorrow to-morrow morning for instructions. |
