Tentative plans for tlie organization of a third troop of national na-tional guard cavalry in this citv were mapped ouL tonight, when A. E. YVilfong. first lieutenant; N. G. U.. unassigned. was placed in charge of recruiting at a meeting meet-ing held in the armory tonight. The decision de-cision to orga nizc ano'.ber troop was readied by officers of troop B and troop K, who point out that B troop is now recruited re-cruited to war strength and t lie second ur.it requires only twenty men. Those present at (he meeting and who favor the plan of putting a third Ogden troop in the field are Major V. E. IOieass. formerly captain of troop B; First Lieutenant Lieu-tenant Wall er P. Eindquist of troop B. Captnin .1. Ray Ward. First Lieutenant J. W. Farley and Second Lieutenant. R. C. Glasmann, all of troop K. Captain Ward announced that through the efforts of his men troop K wilt reach its quota of war strength in a few days, after which every assistance will be given, in procuring recruits re-cruits for the proposed new unit. It was poinled out at the meeting that even with three troops fully organized to war strength Ogclen, considering its population, would not be furnishing as many men to the national guard as Salt Lake City. Lieutenant Wilfong has issued is-sued notice that all young men in Ogden and vicinity desiring to afriliate with the new troop should call on him at the armory. There . will be several positions open for non-commissioned officers in the new troop. |
