Show Coffee Futures. NFW YORK, March 14. An early decline de-cline was followed by a very sharp advance ad-vance in the market for coffee futures today, with September contracts selling up from 7.77c to 7.9Sc and closing at 7.Sfc bid. The market opened live to eight points lower under a renewal of scattering liquidation, which was promoted by reports re-ports of numerous cost and freight offers and further liberal clearances from Hrazll. Selling wiis well taken around the Initial figures, however, and the market later was InlUiRitcod by the appearance of buying buy-ing orders In the hands of some of the more prominent brokers, although the talk around the rin? rellected no change In the general news. The close was at a net advance of twelve to fourteen points. Sales, t2.000 bags. March, 7.66c; April. 7.63c; May. 7.69c; June. 7.76c; July. 7.812c; August, 7.89c ; September, 7.95c; Octoher, 8.01c; November, R.OTc; December, S.13c; January, 8.'J0c; February, 8.27c. Spot, irregular; Rio 7s, 9t,ilc; Santos 4s. 10c. Comparatively few fresh offers were reported In the cost and freight market today, but rather an easier tone ws noted. One lot of Santos 4s was said to be offered at 9.45c. American credits, and 3s and 4s at O.T.ic, Jondon credits. Highly High-ly described Santos 4s at 9.65c, London credits, neutral steamers. The official cables reported a decline of 75 rels In the Rio market, but an advance of 25 to F.0 rels In Santos futures. Santos cleared 73,000 bacs for New York. |
