The death of the Duchess of Connaught Is announced. an-nounced. During the last few days the relatives and friends of the Duke and Duchess of Connaught were aware that the case of the duchess was hopeless. In the latter stages of her Illness oxygen was frequently fre-quently administered. It Is thought that the complication of broncho-pneurnonla would probably have been successfully overcome but for the drain on the patient's strength caused by an operation in London in 1313. As late as this afternoon the ducness was conscious con-scious and able to recognize the members of her family who were gathered at her bedside. The Duchese of Connaught. wifn of the Duke of Connaught, uncle of King George and former governor general of Canada, was seized with a bronchial attack last February and during her convalescence bronchial pneumonia developed. She had been seriously ill for the past several days.
