Show HEAVY SNOWSTORM CAUSES NO DAMAGE Street Railways Suffer Little and Traffic Traf-fic on All Steam Roads Goes On Uninterruptedly. ! i A snowstorm which is but one in seven states visited Salt Lake yesterday, yester-day, making its appearance at 8 o'clock in the morning. It was preceded by a high wind, which prevailed most of the early morning, i Throughout the day the street railway rail-way sweepers were kept in operation over all the city and met with success in keeping the roads open for traffic, but little delay being occasioned by reason rea-son of the snow. The work was under the personal supervision of -General Manager H. F. Dicke. The officials of the Bamberger and Orem intertirban lines reported that their roads were in full operation, the snow having little if any effect on traffic. The officials of tho Denver & Rio Grande and the Oregon Short Line, as well as the Western Pacific, report that traffic has been carried on during the snowstorm uninterrupted. The telegraphic system of the "Western Union was interfered with for a short time yesterday, communication with Salt Lake being tempora rily suspended owing to a storm west of Chicago. All the mails from the east arrived at the local postoffice on time. |
