PARIS, March 14. 5:25 p. m. Femand i Lahori, who was attorney for Captain I Alfred Dreyfus, died today, after a long 1 and painful illness. j Fernand Labori, long prominent at the j Paris bar, sprang into International ! prominence as the result of his activities ' in the celebrated Dreyfus case in the late '90's. A conspicuous service in this connection con-nection was performed by him in behalf of Km lie Zola, when that noted author was accused of libeling the French president presi-dent and the French army in his defense of Captain Dreyfus. Later Maitre Labori acted as the defender de-fender of Dreyfus at the treason trial at Rennes. He was attorney at various times in the cases of not a few prominent promi-nent Americans engaged in litigation in France and In numerous Ftench cases of note, including the Caillaux case, in which he was counsel for Mme. Caillaux. He was born In Rheims in 1S60. |
