Show READY TO FURNISH SEED TO FARMERS Utah Cereal Food Company Desires to Buy Grain From Utah. Agriculturists; Agricultur-ists; Makes Good Offer. Tn order to encourage the raising of grain, and particularly oats, in Utah, the Utah Cereal Food company of Ogden states its willingness to furnish to Utah farmers seed oats and wheat of the kind necessary in the manufacture of "Sun-ripe" "Sun-ripe" cereals. This seed will be thoroughly thor-oughly and properly cleaned and free from all foreign matter and inferior grains. This seed will be furnished at a .charge to the farmer of just what the grains cost the company, there being no desire to make any profit In the transaction. The matter came up at the recent annual stockholders meeting held at Ogden. Og-den. Members of the board of directors, including M. S. Browning, Fred J. Kiesel. J. A. Ifendrickson, George T. Odell and others, were disappointed to learn that during the seven or eight months the cereal company has been operating It was compelled to go to Montana to secure grain, particularly oats, In sufficient quantity for its purpose. A discussion of the matter revealed the fact that the Importation of the gram was made necessary by the fact that the quality of oats raised in Utah and southern south-ern Idaho, particularly the past year, was not us good as the grain obtained in Montana, This was attributed to the fact that the farmers of Utah and Idaho had not 'been particular enough In seed selection. |
