Show SHAFROTH'S BILL. i Senator Shafroth of Colorado has I been successful in securing the indorse-1 ment of the senate committee on banking bank-ing and currency for his bill providing for the establishment of an additional lane1 .bank district to be composed ot the state of Colorado, AVyoming,Utah and New Mexico, with the federal land bank at Denver. We do not see the least necessity for the additional district, although al-though it is probable the twelve districts dis-tricts originally formed could have been better arranged. It will be of no advantage ad-vantage to Utah to be included in a new district with Colorado with the land bank located in Denver. "We agree with the idea that a district should have been formed out of Idaho, Utah, Wyoming Wyom-ing and Colorado, with Salt Lake as headquarters, but as we are at present included in the same district as California Cali-fornia and the land bank has been located lo-cated at Berkeley -we are content to let the matter rest. The only purpose of the Shafroth .bill is to provide a land bank for Denver, which is not necessary. |
