Show CLEARING HOUSE FOR TROOPS IS PLANNED N'BW YORK, Oct. SO. A joint infor- j mat ion bureau, in which the facilities of the Red Cross and Mayor Mitehel's committee com-mittee of national defense will be merged, will be opened in this city next Monday, ll is designed to serve as a '"clearing iousc" for inquiries by mothers and relatives rela-tives oi" men serving in the United States a run- and navy concerning their whereabouts, where-abouts, healt h and other data that may be requested. If the soldier is sick, wounded or taken prisoner, it is Intended such information may be obtained from t he new bureau. Uelb-f measures for the dependents of soldiers and sailors is another object to which the bureau will give its atten-tlon. |
