Show COMMISSION CUTS BILL OF ARCHITECT EJetting Accepts Keductlon of $3000 in Settlement for Work on Utah Capitol. j A final settlement with Architect Rich- ; ard Kletting, who drew the plans and specifications for the Utah state capitol and supervised the construction of the building as architect, was effected yesterday yes-terday by the capitol commission. Under the settlement Mr. Kletting receives re-ceives about $3000 as the balance due him. which Is nearly $3000 less than the amount claimed by Mr. Kletting as due. The architect was paid on a commission commis-sion basis. The total amount received by ; him for his services is about $124,000, ac- ! cording to announcement of the capitol i commission. Mr. Kletting claimed some omissions due for furnishings and decora- ' tlons In the building which the commts- , sion did not feel he was entitled to receive. re-ceive. This matter has been under consideration con-sideration by the board for some time, which explains the delay In making a final settlement. At the meeting yesterday, however, the board and Mr. Kletting got together and an agreement was reached to settle all claims by payment of the $3000 as the balance due. The commission also appropriated $2100 to purchase carpets for the state senate and house of representatives chambers, for use during the coming legislative : session. |
