After a sleepless night of worry, not 50 much about himself, but the safety of his family, Governor Spry was at his office as usual at 9 o'clock yesterday morning, and attended to business of state as though no attempt had been made to blow up his home and family. While the governor Is reticent about the attempt upon his life, ltis apparent that he considers the situation a most grave one, calling for most careful procedure. pro-cedure. So far as his own safety is concerned, con-cerned, the governor appears to have no worry, buV the action of those who sought his life in attempting to destroy his family fam-ily and his home at the same time causes him greatest concern in regard to them. "I believe in law and order and the protection of property." said Governor Spry, "and I will not change my attitude on this matter. I have done my duty as I saw it and Khali continue to do so and to serve my state and its people to the best of my ability, regardless of what may come to me and mine." Insistence of the governor upon going out to his duties yesterday and exposing himself more or less tn those who aro evidently seeking his life, caused a protest pro-test on the pan, of his close friends, who are urging utmost carefulness, but tho governor declares that he will be on duty as usual every' day and will not let. what has happened interfere with tho regular routine of his business as chief executive execu-tive of the state of i;t;ih. The present situation was the subievt of a conference held in the governor's office yesterday morning at which were present, besides the governor, his private pri-vate sccretarv, John K. Hardy. Attorney General A. R. Barnes. Warden Arthur Pratt, of the ptata prinon, and representatives represen-tatives of detective agencies, which have operators a t work a t tempt ing to local e the man or men responsible for placing the bomb which was found at the gov-, gov-, ernor's house Monday morning. The conference was held behind closed doors and no Information wa given out as to the matters dlsoupsed or the plans for future action which were decided upon to give Increased protection protec-tion to the governor and his family. It is known, however, that plans for the future were discussed and some Immediate Immedi-ate plans of action were determined upon. The guard at the governor's house has already been greatly increased, and renewed re-newed vicilance is assured.
