Show TWO FURNACES AT TOOELE SHUT DOWN Special to The Tribune. TOOELE. Dec. 26. The shortage of coal still presents a serious problem at the International Smelting company's plant here today, according to Superintendent O. M. Kucks. It was found necessary to close down two large furnaces in the copper cop-per plant. There Is no coal in the city yards for the use of residents, but no actual suffering has yet been reported. The trains on the Tooele Valley branch to the smelter and on the Salt Lake Route are operating late. Incident to the slippery working conditions condi-tions at the smelter, John Kerby, an employee em-ployee with the rope gang, had his leg broken today. The funeral of Joshua Brown, killed on the railroad track Sunday, will be held tomorrow in the South ward meeting house. The coroner's jury considered the case yesterday, but adjourned " without coming to a decision. It Is understood that the members wish to go over the evidence again before reporting. |
