Show BENEFICIAL LIFE HAS NEW DIRECTOR Joseph F- Smith, Jr., Is Chosen to Fill Vacancy Caused by Death of L. S. Hills. Joseph F. Smith, Jr., was elected a member ol" the board of directors of the Beneficial Life Insurance company at the regular quarterly meeting of that body held yesterday afternoon at the home office of-fice in the Vermont building in this city. Tlie meeting was well attended, virtually all of the twenty-five directors blng present. The vacancy In the board which Mr. Smith was elected to fill was caused through the removal by death of L. S. Hills. The new officer was one of the original orig-inal Incorporators of the company and one of the oldest policyholders. He is one of the most widely known of the younger generation of Insurance men and his election elec-tion to the directorate, the officials believe, be-lieve, will have the indorsement of both stockholders and policyholders. The send -annual report of the company's com-pany's business was read and approved by the board. It Indies ted one of the most prosperous years the company has enjoyed since its organization. The assets of the company now approximate approxi-mate $1. 500, 000 and the insurance In force more than $16,500,000. |
